FAQ

What happens in a photography session?

Your session is designed to feel relaxed, natural and completely you. There’s no pressure to perfectly pose or have everyone looking at the camera the whole time - my goal is to capture the little moments that make this season of life special.

We’ll start with a few gentle prompts to help everyone feel comfortable, then I’ll guide you through a mix of natural interactions, movement and connection. This might look like cuddling on the couch, playing with your little ones, going for a walk, sharing a laugh or simply soaking up the everyday moments together.

For families, I’ll let your children be themselves and follow their lead - some of the most beautiful images come from the unexpected moments in between. For couples, maternity and newborn sessions, I’ll help create a calm environment where you can focus on each other rather than worrying about the camera.

What should we wear for our session?

Wear what feels like you. Your photos should feel like your family - not like you’ve dressed up as someone else for the camera.

I love soft, earthy tones, natural textures, denim, linen, cosy knits and layers, but there really aren’t any hard and fast rules. Don’t be afraid of colour, either. If bright red is your thing, your little one lives in yellow, or you’ve got a wardrobe full of beautiful prints - bring it. Your clothes are another way to let your personality and your family’s story shine through.

Rather than everyone perfectly matching, think about choosing colours and textures that complement each other while still letting each person feel like themselves. Most importantly, choose clothes you can move, cuddle, play and get a little messy in.

For in-home sessions, I especially love leaning into the everyday - barefoot moments, favourite jumpers, pyjamas, flowing fabrics and the clothes you actually live in.

At the end of the day, there’s no perfect outfit. I want you to look back at these photographs and think, “yep, that was so us.”

Can we include pets?

Absolutely! I love when pets are included in your photos - they’re such an important part of your family.

Just keep in mind that they may not be in every photo. To make the session run smoothly, I recommend coming prepared with a way to safely secure them when they’re not being photographed, or bringing along someone who can look after them in between photos.

For outdoor sessions, we often use beautiful public spaces, so please make sure your pets are comfortable and well behaved around other people, dogs and distractions. We want to be respectful of the shared space while still capturing those special moments with your furry family members.

Where do sessions take place?

Sessions can take place either in the comfort of your own home or at a beautiful outdoor location — whichever feels most like you.

I love in-home sessions because they capture the little details of your everyday life and create a relaxed, meaningful environment where you can simply be yourselves. From slow mornings in the nursery to cuddles on the couch, these sessions are all about preserving the feeling of this season of life.

If you prefer the outdoors, you’re welcome to choose a location that is special to you, or I’m always happy to recommend some of my favourite spots around the region. I love finding locations with beautiful natural light and scenery that complement your family and the story we’re capturing.

Do you travel for sessions?

Absolutely! I love travelling to new places and discovering beautiful locations to capture your story.

While I’m based in Albury Wodonga, I regularly travel throughout the surrounding regions and if your location is within a couple of hours, there’s a good chance I can make it work. Some locations outside of Albury Wodonga may incur a small travel fee, which we can discuss when planning your session.

Do you offer payment plans?

Absolutely! I understand that investing in photography is a special decision, and I’m more than happy to work with you to create a payment plan that suits your needs.

We can chat through a custom payment schedule that allows you to spread out the cost of your session over time. Your final gallery will simply be delivered once the full payment has been received.

If you’d like to discuss a payment option, just reach out and we can find a solution that works for you.
